Can lead generation costs be capped each month?

A monthly cap is a contract term. Learn how to state it for pay per lead, what else to limit, and what Vivin's written agreement says.

A monthly cap is a contract term. Learn how to state it for pay per lead, what else to limit, and what Vivin's written agreement says.

Short answer: a monthly cost cap is a contract term, so ask for it in writing. With a pay per lead model you can express it as a maximum number of accepted leads multiplied by the price per lead, plus any monthly fee. Vivin’s signed agreement states volume, caps, pauses, notice and any minimum duration.

Vivin Sales charges USD $15 to $500 per accepted lead, exclusive and never resold, a lead that is off-criteria is replaced, and there is no setup fee. Every fee is listed in your written quote before you sign.

Can you cap lead generation spend in a contract?

You can ask for it, and whether it is agreed is a matter for the two parties and the written document. A cap is not a feature of a pricing model. It is a clause. If a provider says yes on a call, ask for the sentence in the proposal or the agreement, because that is what you can rely on later.

State the cap in the unit you pay for. For a pay per lead model, that is a number of accepted leads in a month. For an appointment model, it is a number of attended appointments. A cap stated in money alone can leave open what happens to leads that arrive after it is reached.

How does a cap work when you pay per accepted lead?

Because Vivin bills per accepted lead, the cost of a month follows the accepted leads delivered. Write the maximum as a formula and check it against your budget:

Maximum monthly spend = cap on accepted leads × price per accepted lead + any monthly fee in the quote.

Ask the provider to confirm each term of the formula in writing. Vivin replaces a lead that is off-criteria, and with any provider you should ask how replacements appear on the invoice. Your quote lists every fee before you sign, so the monthly fee term is known in advance.

Our cost per lead calculator shows the most you can afford to pay per lead from your revenue, margin and closing rates, which helps you set the cap from your own numbers.

What other cost elements need a cap or a limit?

Not every cost follows the number of leads. Go through each one and decide whether it needs its own limit.

Cost elementQuestion to settle in writing
Price per accepted leadIs it one figure for the month or does it vary with the profile?
Number of accepted leadsWhat is the monthly maximum and what happens at the maximum?
Monthly infrastructure feeDoes the quote state one and what does it cover?
Duplicates and replacementsAre they billed, replaced or credited?
PausesCan you pause delivery and how is a pause recorded?
Minimum durationIs there one and what notice ends the work?
Your own follow-up costCan your team handle the volume the cap allows?

The last row is not a provider cost, but it shapes a sensible cap. How many attended meetings your team can handle each week walks through that capacity question.

What does Vivin’s agreement say?

Vivin’s lead agreement says that volume, caps, pauses, notice and any minimum duration are stated in the signed agreement. It says pay per lead and pay per appointment have no setup fee, that a monthly infrastructure fee appears when the written quote states one and that every fee is listed in your written quote before you sign. Either party may end a campaign on 14 days written notice, and a delivered lead can be disputed within 5 business days of delivery under the written criteria.

For pay per appointment, Vivin charges USD $100 to $500 per attended appointment. No-shows are never billed, and cancellations with notice are replaced. Every fee is listed in your written quote before you sign.

Can a pay per close fee be capped?

Pay per close works differently, so ask the question differently. The fee is 5% to 20% of attributed contract value plus USD $497 per month. The rate is agreed per client, 20% is the ceiling, the USD $497 applies regardless of closes and the client closes. Every fee is listed in your written quote before you sign.

The success fee follows contract value, so any limit on it is something to agree in the written terms, along with the fee base and the attribution window. Read why pay per close has a monthly fee and what deal size suits pay per close before you decide.

How do you ask a provider about a cap?

Send the same four questions to every provider you consider. What is the maximum number of billable units in a month? What happens to leads above it? What other fees appear in the quote? How do pauses and notice work? Put the answers in a table and compare them with the pay per lead company comparison, which lists what other providers publish on their own sites. Hidden costs in lead generation contracts covers fees outside the unit price, and the pay per lead hub explains how Vivin bills. For a sector example, see pay per lead for financial advisors.

Frequently asked questions

Can I set a maximum number of leads per month?

Ask for it as a written cap. Vivin’s signed agreement states volume, caps, pauses, notice and any minimum duration.

Does a cap protect me from every cost?

No. It limits the units it names. Check the monthly fee, replacements, pauses, minimum duration and notice in the same document.

What if the cap is reached early in the month?

Agree in writing whether delivery stops, pauses or continues at your request. Do not assume any of the three.

Where do I find Vivin’s fees for my scope?

In your written quote. Every fee is listed in your written quote before you sign.
