Aged life insurance leads and TCPA: what buyers should know

Vivin does not sell aged leads. Learn how aged shared lists differ from exclusive consented leads and why TCPA questions belong with your counsel.

Short answer: Vivin does not sell aged life insurance leads. An aged lead is an older inquiry that may have been sold before. If you plan to call or text from a list, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the US federal law on telemarketing calls and texts, is a question for your counsel, starting with how consent was captured.

Ask for the consent record before you ask for the price.

What is an aged life insurance lead?

An aged lead is a lead that was generated earlier and is sold later. It may be an inquiry that has been delivered before, so other buyers may already have contacted the person. How old it is, how often it was sold and how consent was recorded depend on the seller, and we know of no fixed definition. Ask each seller to define it in writing.

We describe the category from the buyer’s side. We are not describing any particular vendor, and we make no claim about how any vendor sources or prices its lists.

How do aged shared lists differ from exclusive consented leads?

Use the table to compare the two structures. It describes how the products are defined, not how a given seller behaves. Vivin’s own replacement term is stated in the section on what Vivin offers, below.

QuestionAged shared listExclusive consented lead
Who else has it?Possibly several buyersOne buyer, never resold
How old is it?Older by definitionDelivered after the inquiry

ReplacementContract question for either modelContract question for either model

Neither structure is automatically better for every buyer. A shared list can suit a team that wants volume and has strong follow-up. An exclusive lead suits a team that wants one conversation per person and a clear record. What matters is that you know which one you are buying.

What does the TCPA have to do with this?

The TCPA is the US federal law on telemarketing calls and texts. The Federal Communications Commission’s consumer guide, read on October 23, 2026, at fcc.gov, says “FCC rules also require a caller to obtain your oral or written consent before making an autodialed or prerecorded call or text to your wireless number.” That is the only requirement this guide quotes.

It is a general consumer page, not a complete statement of the law. How it applies to a purchased list, to a particular dialer, to consent captured by someone else, or to an old inquiry is a question for your counsel. We do not say what the TCPA requires of any specific list, and a seller’s assurance that a list is compliant is not a substitute for your own review. This guide is not legal advice.

What should you ask a seller before you buy?

Ask where each record came from, on what date the person asked to be contacted, what wording they agreed to, and which company they named in that consent. Ask whether the consent covers your company or the seller’s partners, and how an opt-out is handled. Ask how many other buyers received the same record. If the answers are vague or the seller will not put them in writing, treat that as a sign to stop.

The same questions apply to any lead source, and our guide on red flags that a B2B lead vendor is selling scraped lists lists more.

What does Vivin offer instead?

Vivin Sales charges USD $15 to $500 per accepted lead across its markets. Each lead is exclusive and never resold, a lead that is off-criteria is replaced, and there is no setup fee. Every fee is listed in your written quote before you sign. Vivin works from the consent the person gave when they asked to be contacted and records when and where they gave it. If advisor time is the constraint, Vivin charges USD $100 to $500 per attended appointment, with no-shows never billed.

Vivin is Ottawa-based and serves Canada and the United States. See the life insurance industry page, the life insurance pay per lead page and buying life insurance leads in Canada for the Canadian buyer’s view. To compare providers, use the pay per lead company comparison, and read the pay per lead hub.

How do you decide?

Decide what you are buying before you decide what it costs. If you want an older, shared list and you have counsel’s approval of your calling process, ask the seller for the consent evidence and compare the cost per accepted contact. If you want one person who asked to be contacted, with a record, compare the cost per accepted lead. When cheap B2B leads cost more per accepted lead shows how to do the arithmetic.

Frequently asked questions

Does Vivin sell aged life insurance leads?

No. Vivin sells exclusive leads that are never resold, and a lead that is off-criteria is replaced.

What is the TCPA?

It is the US federal law on telemarketing calls and texts. Ask your counsel how it applies to your list and process.

Is an aged lead illegal to call?

We do not say. Whether a call is permitted depends on facts such as how consent was captured, so ask your counsel.

What should I ask for before buying a list?

The source, the date, the consent wording, the company named, the number of other buyers and the replacement terms, all in writing.
